Netrugby
Another addition to my series on alternative sports in London - Netrugby. The game has been around since the Boer War at the beginning of last century. Although it's name suggest a cross between netball and rugby it seems to have a lot in common with American football. Players can pass the ball forward as well as back, tackle each other from any direction and score by throwing the ball into a large net suspended on either end of the pitch. It is definitely one of the most exhausting sports I've photographed so far, with each half lasting 30 minutes and hardly any let ups in intensity.

RSC Live Shakespeare 400
Last weekend I was in Stratford-Upon-Avon for the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare death at the RSC. It was a day of parades, activities, and performances culminating in the big live show at the RSC theatre screened on BBC2 featuring a host of stars including Prince Charles in Hamlet. Some backstage shots here plus a select few from throughout the day.

Before Sunrise - Time Out feature
Here is a series if portraits I shot for Time Out magazine last month, featuring a florist, a photographer, a wildlife expert and a rower going about their business at the crack of dawn.

Crystal Maze - Time Out
The Crystal Maze comes to London as a live action experience. To be honest I was sceptical at first about how good this could be but as soon as the game began I was hooked.
The games are generally fun and well designed. You get all the zones they had in the original: Aztec, Future, Medieval and Industrial. You also get to wear some very stylish bomber jackets.
Here are some pics from the crystal dome section at the end (unfortunately the only part I was allowed to photograph). The Time Out guide has some useful advice for anyone collecting those gold tokens. The online article with more pics is here. Trust me when I say it's a damn sight harder than it looks on the tele.
